Chris Mason

Lancastrian by birth, East Anglian by adoption and now retired in Chipping Sodbury, South Gloucestershire, I am proud to be husband, father and grandfather.
My formation and training in the art and practice of spiritual accompaniment was in Cambridge (2010 – 2012) and I later completed a two year course in supervision in Bath 2020-2021. As a member of the Gloucestershire Spiritual Direction Trust, my practice has been shaped by the Ignatian tradition, the practice of contemplative prayer with WCCM and the Anglican Church in which I serve as an active, retired priest.
In accordance with best practice and as part of my own health and well-being, I seek confidential and regular supervision for all my work with the people I accompany and also those I supervise.
I have a professional background in social work and further/higher education and experience of ministry in parish and school chaplaincy. As I remain deeply curious about the close connection between spirituality, healing and therapy, I am pursuing a foundation programme for psychotherapy training.
I am pleased to support the work of the good practice action group of the SD Forum UK.
